I have a Kenmore He5t dryer; it's only 3 years old. Sometimes it will dry clothes fully, but other times, the dryer just stops. It doesnt seem to matter WHICH cycle I try - and there is no predicting when it will or wont work. The drum light always comes on, as if there is an error. Any ideas? Thanks!

I'm afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is its exact model number. If you post it we can look it up to see what appliance design you're dealing with.
You can find tips for locating the model and serial number identification tag on your appliances at the following link:

What do you mean "the drum light always comes on"? When you open the door??
Can the dryer be restarted immediately or do you have to wait a while before it will restart again?

Model #110.87088601; serial # MT4901378.
The drum light comes on when the dryer stops in mid cycle, and the door is still closed. although it does not stay on, it is often how I first notice the dryer has stopped. The dryer does not seem to be overly hot. I ALWAYS clean the lint screen, and we have a screen on the outside vent cap to prevent critters from coming in. When the dryer cycles normally, the heat seems adequate. I hope this additional info helps...

also, the dryer CAN be started again immediately. Somtimes I have to restart it several times before it actually works properly.

There should be a door switch which when activated turns ON the light and the dryer OFF at the same time. It sounds like it is being activated prematurely. Is the door becoming ajar or maybe flexing momentarily, tripping the door switch?
Someone might need to investigate that area of the dryer.
