This washer fills, agitates, drains, but doesn't spin. I hear the motor running if I didn't have the lid open amd the door switch ingaged an looking at the tub not sinning I would think it was sinning from the sounds it is making with timer on spin.
I have heard and read a lot about the coupler is broken if the washer doesn't spin, but I would think none of the motor driven functions would work eather.
I can run a full load of cloths and it works fine till the spin cycle and no spin.
Can anyone throw me a life line in some suggestions why no spin. Tims are hard and I have to fix this cause a repairman or replacement washer isn't in the budget right now.
I would greatly appreciate your helping sugestion as to is it electrical or the mecanical transmition box.
Tks, rotton1

If the coupler was broken the washer would not spin OR agitate. It would still drain.

There are 3 possibilities I can think of.
1. The timer is not pausing between drain and spin (see the following link).

2. There is a problem with the 'neutral drain' mechanism inside the transmission. It is a common failure point and would require either the whole transmission to be replaced or it opened up and the affected parts replaced which come together in a 'kit' with instructions.

3. The clutch may be worn or contaminated with water or oil and totally slipping. This is the least likely cause IMO.
