I have a Kenmore washer (model 110.26702690). The washer will fill but then stops. I don't think it is the latch on the lid. You can hear the motor trying to go during the cycle, but nothing moves. The agitator will not move and the water will not drain. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciate.

Thanks.

** nothing moves. The agitator will not move and the water will not drain. **

Does the timer advance through the whole cycle as if it was working or does it stick right where agitation should start?

It appears not to move and won't do anything even if the timer is moved manually.

** [the timer] appears not to move **

There are only 3 things that should stop the advancing of the timer.

1. The water level switch which would prevent the timer from advancing past the fill.

2. The lid switch that would prevent the timer from advancing from wash to spin and drain.

3. A defective timer.

None of those conditions should prevent other washer functions from working if the timer was manually moved to the various points in the cycle.

Nothing except fill occurring could be caused by a problem with the main motor (it is responsible for agitation, spin and drain) but a failure of it would NOT affect timer operation.

Unless you have more than one problem at the same time (motor AND timer - fairly unlikely), someone might need to recheck the actual symptoms that are occurring.
