The display on the stove went crazy and was displaying multiple lights. Could not be reset or turned off. Had to unplug and then plug back in and now it will not illuminate at all. Burners work fine but stove will not turn on. Please does anyone have answer for this problem.

I'm afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is its exact model number ("XL44" isn't it). If you post it we can look it up to see what appliance design you're dealing with.

I can't think of anything besides maybe a failure of the electronic control itself that could be responsible for the symptoms you reported. The control may need to be replaced to correct the condition.
