We are in the process of building a 2 story Cape in Dennis, Massachusetts (Cape Cod). The original house was proposed to the Historic Commission with a Farmers Porch on the front. The porch was denied because it was not considered part of a traditional New England Cape, but rather introduced to the traditional Cape when they were built in the south.

I'm looking for any historic or traditional Capes, specifically north of Route 6A, in the Dennis, Yarmouth, Barnstable area that have a Farmers Porch. Or any type of definition as to what constitutes a "traditional New England Cape" in so far as the inclusion or not of a Farmers Porch.
