I am wanting to build a home for my family using cement block construction. Where do I look (internet, books, etc) for information on this method, as well as possible floor plans? Any help is greatly appreciated.

why would you want to build a house using cmu as a method? if you want the sercurity of concrete i would go with a new foam blacok wall system. its foam blocks that are put together and then contcrete is poured into it. so you get the advantage of something like r-30 plus the thermal massiving of the concrete. plus you won't have the bug problem!
