I am moving to DC soon and am currently shopping for a good home designer to help with some extensive remodeling of my "new" older home. I have interviewed one so far with whom several customers have expressed great satisfaction. He charges by the hour at 200/hour. I'm sure the basic answer is a "you get what you pay for" one, however, I am just trying to get a feel if this is a high end, or medium end rate for the DC metro area.
