hope this isn't a stupid question. Is it possible to build your own bathtub? I am a large woman and would love to have a good soak in a large tub. We live in an older house and the basement is accessible to build one. Thanks

I have marked the objectionable posts to be deleted.

You can buy soaking or whirlpool tubs of almost any size. A tub can also be made using plywood, cement board waterproofing and tile like the old Roman tubs. You are not stuck with the standard 60 x 30 tub. Where you install it depends on space available and location of your plumbing. Its really not very easy to plunk a bath down in the basement if you don't have water supply and drains. We really need a more specific question to be of help to you.
