We have removed a weight bearing wall for a room addition. Now we would like to cover the exposed beam and post (support beam). What options do we have to cover these? any and all suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

- covering exposed beams
1). Make it a focal point. Frame with moldings, flank with columns or pilasters.
2). Turn it into an arched opening.
3). Turn it into a place for "portieres" which are interior window treatments. Hang a decorative wood pole across the expanse, hang drapes on rings, tie them back...lovely solution.
Not knowing your taste, the room function, the style of the home, or the expanse of the area, its a little difficult to envision.
Happy renovating!
