I own a 1903 Victorian farm house in Glendora CA.It has both Victorian and Craftsman features. We are taking on a large addtion I want to know about windows. It now has it's original windows and I was wondering if we should repair them or replace them? Something bothers me about replacing original windows. Also the two front porches have round columns, I want to know is it a faux pas to add fret work in the roof peaks? We want a little more charm to a somewhat plain front. And is there something to dress up the drab window trim? I don't don't want a full painted lady but would like to dress it up a bit without making any mistakes. The inside of the house is mostly victorian trims except the dining room that has a craftsman touch, Should the new kitchen reflect that era? Thanks for any suggestions.
