Looking for ideas for a custom corner gas fireplace. I don't want a raised hearth and would like a niche above it and no mantle. Sort of a contemporary look. Will have a wall unit built in that will house the plasma tv and don't want the fireplace to compete. Initial thought is to have a marble surround, no mantle, and above it a niche about four feet high. The ceiling is 12'-1-1/2". Need help on a design. I'm open to ideas. Thanks.
