We are building a log house. I have questions on the roof insulation posted under insulation. Maybe I'll get some batum soon. We have our basement in and are fixing to order logs.

I am buying a log home built in 19993. The owner/ builder installed weathershield windows but not very many of them. The great room only has two windows and so it is dark.

He has a T for the gas line for a fireplace in the subfloor. (No fireplace)

I am thinking about adding a large gable dormer with a fireplace in the middle and two large wagon wheel window on either side. The windows would face East.

Would this fix the light problem, do you forsee structural problems and is it cost prohibitive. (USMC enlisted)
