I want to cut an access door in the wall so I can easily access the storage area with out having to crawl across the dryer. Where do I begin?

Dear Wendy,
First off, make sure the wall you cut into is not a load bearing wall. If not, decide on the size of the door you want. Buy or rent a Sawzall type saw. Use a level to mark your top horizontal line and a square for the other lines. After ascertaining that there are no electric or water lines in the way, cut out your hole. Frame the open space in with 2x4's and install your door. There are ready made crawlspace doors that will give one the dimensions of the cut. If your wall is load bearing, you'll need to install a header above.
Good luck, Len
