I need someone's opinions. We are looking at a house which has a raised foundation, built in 60's. Inspector found out there is a major horizontal crack on concrete foundation wall, which is also visible from the exterior wall, efflorescence on foundation wall, some piers and posts are out of alignment with girder beams, crack on chimney, rust on furnace, crack on landscape block wall, tilted fence, minimal visible anchoring for foundation, crack on pool decking, slow draining in kitchen and one of the bathrooms, crack on interior garage floor and driveway too. Are these problems related and fixable. Is there possible ground movement? Please advise. Thanks.

I'm no expert but I'd look at another house! You could probably get out of the deal on the inspection contingency. I'm having some foundation work done (20 year old house) and it's NOT cheap....and also not near as serious as what you could be looking at--the crack, for example!
Personally, there is nothing the seller could offer that would make me want to take on all those problems!
Good luck!
