how would you repair a damaged or rotted tji floor joist? glue is a terrible thing to use to hold a house up don't you think? this is one of the problems with new engineering. real wood joists can be easily scabbed onto.

Is the top or bottom chord rotted or is it the center osb core?

You can get some laminated material about 1 inch thick, commonly sold as rimboard and lag two pieces together. One piece on one side of center core and other piece on the other side, then lag or carriage bolt the two together to form a sandwich effect.

One of mine had to be cut for plumbing lines and they did this. The bottom chord is the key for strength. Don't ever cut the bottom chord.
