Want a wood one but do not want to remove concrete.
I've seen a wood deck built atop a concrete deck, joist simply attached to concrete etc.
I thought this was a bad idea - wood rot etc, but was told that because the wood was treated that it was all ok.
Can a wood deck be built on top of concrete. If so, is there a barrier that needs to be placed over concrete first? Is there a special type of wood that is used.
Was also told that the type of wood used in the one I saw was no longer available in our area because of the arsenic content of the preservative. Is there another type of treated wood that can be used?
