1) black carpenter ants, they seem to invade my home except in winter, any sure fire ways to keep them out

2) Rodents, I have mice, in the house, squirrels in the attic, and in my cars, the squirrels have ruined the wiring on my new truck, and my girlfriends car, live traps don’t seem to work, and poison is not an option because of pets. The mice seem to be too smart to fall for traps
