I noticed a strong smell in my garage today and found what appears to be a dead raccoon. Real nasty one too. It is covered in thousands of maggots which are also very nasty. I don't dare try to take care of this problem myself. Is this a job for pest control or should I just burn my garage down? Really, who can I call for this problem? Thanks.

- Dead animal and maggots - What to do?
I guess I should've figured this out, but I was a little in shock by the surprise.
I called the local animal control department and they sent someone out to remove the carcass. They recommended putting lime on the pile of maggots. The lime killed the little buggers and got rid of the smell. Hopefully nobody else runs into this problem, but just incase they do I thought I'd post my solution. Thanks.
