I have a deck that adjoins our home in the back and the main support rests on Concrete. However we do have one section of the deck touching a flower bed and it's wood to earth contact right there where a major support beam for the deck runs in the bottom. I am paranoid of termites and know I will need to eliminate the flower-bed contact with that beam.

Is there anything else I can do for the deck to ensure it's termite free besides repeated inspections?? My bond has a damage repair clause but doesn't cover the deck, only the house/walls etc.. What all would you guys suggest that I do, to ensure my deck is well protected from termites??
