My dad recently bought an "as is" house. We discovered it was infected with rats/mouse. Think we have gotten rid of them. But now comes the hard part, we are find that most the walls and ceilings have rat droppings and nest and some dead rats in them. What is the safest way to tear down all of this dirty drywall and insulation without harming our health. Will it be safe to live in this house (from disease) if we remove all contaminated material, spray walls with bleach and put all new drywall and insulation in? Can you get sick from old rat poop?
