Modifying Existing Garage Foundation for 2nd Story Addition

Has anyone out there done a second story addition to an existing two car garage? The garage is built on a slab on grade with a standard poured concrete footing. Did you modified your existing footing by cutting into slab and increasing the width of the footing below grade?

Hello,
I have the same question as you, I am curious about building a 2nd story above my existing attached 2 car garage. However, I do not see any responses to your question, were you able to figure this out?

Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

I have built a second floor recently for my garage. But I don't have any knowledge about the slab you are talking about. However as per I understand, you should increase the width of footing.
