Bvbasement
My wife and I just had a house built. After a couple months we started to see ants and other bugs crawl out of the walls. After the last episode, we checked under the carpet and saw cracks near the edge of the foundation. We have a slab foundation (no basement). The foundation floor stops about three inches from the block. Foam has been inserted between the block and the foundation. It looks like the cracks are concentrated around the foam. Luckily it does not look like any of the cracks have spidered out into the floor (yet). There are no visible cracks outside. We have a couple questions:

1) Is this foam we see normal in slab foundations? What is it?

2) Are these cracks indicative of a bigger problem (other than bugs)?

3) If the problem is not too severe, will some concrete sealant compound do the trick?

By the way...our builder won't return our calls (naturally)!

Thanks for all your help!!!!!!!!!!
