I am thinking of purchasing a storage shed. It comes with a floor but what do I put underneath this floor? Would I put blocks, bricks, sand..what? I do not want it to rot underneath. My yard is made up of dirt and clay. In the storage shed would be the normal outside stuff..lawn mower, bikes, out side furniture..etc. thanks for your help..

Wood sheds should be set up on block piers set on concrete footings to raise it above the ground. Other type of piers could be used as well including brick, concrete, etc.

The shed should also be tied down using metal straping, or secured to the piers using tie down anchors or bolts.
