I am looking into buying an 8x8' vinyl shed that comes with its own "foundation kit" ("Apollo" from Costco). Without buying it, I don't know exactly what that means, but I assume it's just the floor. Instead of putting it directly on the ground (some gravel + dirt), I thought I'd just construct an 8x8 box (pressure treated 2x4s), and fill in with gravel. That would be an easy level, and elevate the floor slightly above ground level (no flooding issues where I'm putting it). Is that an acceptable way to go? You could de as you suggest but the stone between treated floor joist is conmpletely unnecessary.

In fact so is the treated framed floor joist idea since vinyl sheds can be placed directly on soil or a bed of stone.

Your idea about the raised wood frame is fine, however, especially if water runoff that could get into the shed otherwise is an issue.
