I've installed a "cheap" single pole motion sensor switch (Eagle brand) on the fluorescent lights in my laundry room. The light fixtures are simple 4' shop lights. With the motion switch installed the lights come on when I enter the room, but then flicker. After I leave the room, the lights shut off but then they continute to "low glow" flicker. Do I have the wrong type of switch installed? Where do I purchase one that will work with these lights?

I expect the switch is not putting out real ac (uses a solid state switch ... SCR). Not a problem for a regular bulb, in fact it makes them last longer. For a light that requires pure ac...you can use a relay hooked to the motion switch that turns the power on to the lights. Real simple and the relay can be had from the 'shack' for a few dollars. You want a relay that has a 120v ac coil and switch contacts rated for the current you lights draw. Most have 5 connections. 2 for the coil. One goes to the switch and the other to the white wire in the wall. The other 3 connections are...
(1) Common, connects to the black wire in the wall.
(2) NC (normally closed), this is not used and should be capped.
(3) NO (normally open) this is connected to the black wire on the lights.
The other wire on the lights (white) is connected to the white wire in the wall.
