I have installed many 3-ways and have no trouble with them.
However, I just installed 4 new recessed lights in my kitchen but when I turn them on they barely glow. All four light bulbs are on but barely. They are wired switch - lights - switch and the run from switch to switch is less than 25 ft. from switch to breaker is 20-25 ft.(ttl

Here's a link/diagram of how to deal with multiple lights

If all the lights are between the switches you need a 4 conductor cable to make them work. You probably only ran three conductor and they are wired in series.
Lets assume = is 3 conductor and - is 2 conductor. You have a couple of options.
sw1=L1=sw2 and L1-L2-L3-L4. Power could come into sw1,sw2 or L1
or sw1=sw2-L1-L2-L3-L4. Power could come into sw1,sw2 or L1
or sw1=sw2-L1=L2=L3=L4-power in. Power comes in at L4.

Certainly one to add to the "favorites" list.
Thanks!

Physics Professor and "Chair" Rick Matthews has been on the web for a long time.......He's based at Wake Forest University in NC........
As a "teacher" he has that special ability to reduce the hard-to-understand to simple-as-pie.....as well as produce impressive graphic images (and teach HOW to do your own graphics)
The Multi-light-switch links are just an brief aside to the vast amount of information at his University website.......here's another link to some of his other pages:
