I have a metal exterior front door with a foam core. The foam has deteriorated so that one of the screws holding in the bolt plate is very loose, since the foam is gone.

The Lockset is a Master single cylander deadbolt. I took it apart so that I could fill in the screw hole with some PCWoody filler.

Now I can't seem to get the lockset put back together properly. Either the key won't turn, or it will turn but not move the bolt.

Does anyone have instructions for making this fit together? Better yet, know of a Web page with illustrations? All I can find are pages that describe how to carefully cut holes in the doors, but how to assemble the lock when the holes are there seems to be missing.

Thanks, Terry

Nevvvver mind -- I gave up and called a locksmith. I don't feel so bad, though -- he had a hard time with it too!
