Any quick solution to this problem? Changing a lock (actually adding) on a basement door.

Took out the old knob, the new knob is too large for the hole already bore for the old knob?

I figure I can always file it down and eventually get a proper fit, but thought I'd see if any tricks were out there. Thanks.
