Does anyone outside Canada know that a square recess screw is a "ROBERTSON" screw?

I'll bet you were watching the History Channel, weren't you JCanuck? So was I.

I build a lot of decks and the Robertson is clearly the best screw available. It doesn't strip as often, the bits last longer, and you hardly ever drive a screwdriver through the back of your hand.

Anybody who is using Phillips clearly has too much time on their hands.

I think we should get Bob promoting this clearly superior product. We should get him calling it by its proper name too..."square recessed" is a description, not a name...they are called Robertsons or, to those of us who use them every day, Robbies.

Hi Guys,
I was just surfing these areas and saw these messages.Sorry to let you know that even in the US a few of us know what robertson screws are. Maybe we don't call them by a knickname but......Mark Hammond

Sorry Mark, but "Robertson" is not a nickname, but the name of the inventor, whom, bye the bye was a Canuck. Let's give credit where it is due. Maybe the same that is given Phillips?

Or maybe more than is given Phillips since the Robertson is a better product and P.L. Robertson actually invented it instead of buying somebody elses patent.
