I need some help in trying to decide which laser level is the best buy for my $. We are adding a room on to our house and I would like to get my hubby a level for Christmas. Any information is greatly appreciated

Hello Terri,

It's not the most sophisticated thing in the world, but I really like my Black and Decker "Bulls Eye" combo laser level and stud finder. It's the best stud sensor I've had. And it is useful for projecting a level line. It's around $50.

I'd bought one of those cheapie $20 laser levels at Costco a while back and found it totally unsatisfactory. You need a serious tripod to make it work--the tripod probably would cost MANY times the level! (The tripod screw isn't even the same thread as a camera tripod!)

The B&D model, you can hang on the wall and its internal pendulum maintains level. Not bad!

Of course, now I've found that the HOUSE is even more "off" than I'd thought!
