Need brushes for older Contractors Grade Skilsaw Mod. 504 / 4-1/2in. blade

I have an older Mod. 504 Skilsaw. Recently the brushes have worn out and I have attempted to locate new ones. I have been told they are no longer available by the factory. Does any one have any suggestions or ????

I have made new brushes by using new brushes slightly wider and/or thicker than the originals and use sandpaper on a flat surface to reduce the size so that they will fit into the brush holders of the tool. very messy job, but it does work.
