my mitered 45 degree corners never seem to fit flush. i have checked my miter for accuracy and i have bought new blades. i wonder why i cant get them to fit?

This is around the windows right, like your earlier post? There is a sequence... cut the 1x4 for the side and the top, leave them long.
Join the mitre's at the corner and mark gap at the opposite side of the 45, you then cut that those at 46 or 44 whatever it takes to get a tight fit.. proceed around the window until completed then nail them in place.

Another quick tip is to back bevel, tip the 1x4 up (if you're new at this use a scrap piece of 1x and rest it on that) then cut the 45.

Not as easy as it looks huh?

Like Altereagle said not as easy as it looks.
Another thing to look for,is the drywall flush with whatever frame you are triming?This will cause miters to open up when you nail them to the wall.
Also if you are trying to maintain a perfect reveal around the jamb and the jamb is out of square(this doesn't happen much,right?)This is where a miter box that goes to 50 degrees comes in handy.Luck
