I picked up a Montgomery Wards belt sander at a rummare model twh 8543a but I can't figure out the size of the belt I need or how to get it on. My old sander had a lever on the side to slide the roller in to mount the belt, and this one only has a screw on the side and is really hard to move the belts, hold the belt and get everything in one spot.

First I need the belt size, if anyone knows it, and then I need a cute young guy to help me get it on.

I just picked up the same model belt sander in mint condition under similar circumstances. It takes a 3"x 18" sanding belt as you no doubt know by now and you are correct about how it comes off.
