We own an 80+year old masonry house. We would like to insulate the exterior walls. What is an economical way to do this?

One way to go would be to build stud walls on the inside. Then fill then with fiberglass insulation. The stud wall could be either wood(2X4 or 2X6) or metal. Metal studs are cheaper, fire resistant, bug resistant, and rot srsistant. The only downside is that if you wanted to run electrical it would have to be done in conduit. Hope i could help.
