I built a 12x24 shop, but the slab set up before it could be properly floated. The floor is rough and a little uneven. Can I do anything to fix it?

I posted a similar question in a couple different places. The reply I got was to get a portable planer and walk it around the floor, clean it all thoroughly, install a self-leveling product (in this case he suggested a gypsum based ardex product with fibre mixed in to make it stronger).

The alternative that was offered to me was to install a subfloor.

He said the treatment with the planer and the self leveling product takes 2-3 days to do in an average basement.

Hope this helps. If you would like to see my original post its a couple entries down from yours on the bulletin board.
