What is a post tension slab?

I am no pro, but basically it is a slab with cables running through it. Generally used for poured in place concrete buildings, parking garages/slabs.
Once the concrete is poured, the cables are tightened to a specific tension as determined by the designing structural engineer. This adds to the strength of the concrete and it's load carring capacity....Joe
