My husband and I are replacing an old, warped deck that was improperly installed and want a patio instead. We are leaning toward brick pavers, but we're wondering if anyone out there has any helpful opinions as to the "best" materials for a patio. We plan to have the install handled professionally, but want to know if we've considered all the pros and cons of brick pavers, or slate, or even concrete (our least favorite option because we think concrete will eventually crack and that it doesn't look as nice as other options). We want to do this cost-effectively but want an attractive, long-lasting solution. Any comments welcome.
