Can anyone tell me how long I should wait to wash off the sugar solution to expose the agregate on concrete after the pour.

I have a small pad I want to pour at the base of my deck stairs and want to expose the agregate and have heard that I should spay the concrete with sugar water so the surface does not set. However, I do not know how long I should wait before I rinse of the uncured concrete.
