I have just gutted my turn-of-the-century Hoboken kitchen. The plaster covering the interior bldg wall was in disrepair. Rather than patch it, I thought I'd expose the brick. The problem: Some of the brick looks good & some look chopped and stained & the inconsistency of the slurry does not look great. I did wire brush clean with TSP and polyurethane with one coat to experiment. I'm 50/50 on it. I'd love to attempt restoration but not sure it's worth the time and money. Thoughts? suggestions? pics at:
