I have one side and the back of our house that has exposed cinderblock for the basement. I want something to cover this, what is the best way to do this? I want something that would make the walls jsut look smooth

Hello cdenning,

I've seen this done a million times with the same result. If you apply a scratchcoat or a stucco to your foundation walls, I can assure you that the chances of the coat cracking where the block joints are is very good. If your problem is aesthetic instead of texture, consider a thick coat of a gray concrete stain to obtain uniformity. If your probelem is the texture of the joints, then consider applying a natural or faux stone, which can be costly.
