Last night, my husband spilled some motor oil on our granite step. It left one stain the size of a can and another smaller one. Can we remove the stains and, if so, how? Thanks!

Granite is not as permeable as many other stones. If warm water and dish soap don't remove the oil, then try an oil stain remover from Prosoco(www.prosoco.com). Do not powerwash the stain or use acid. I'd call their number(1800-255-4255) and query them about the subject. They'll tell you what you need and where to get it.
