Hello all,

I have stumbled across a cottage home with a unique bricking style. There is excess mortar oozing between the bricks of the exterior walls- purposely. I was told they are called "fins".

I need to find out more about this. If you have any information, or could tell me more about this style/technique, I would really appreciate it. I am having no luck on the internet.

thanks.

The technique is called 'weeping joints' or 'weeping mortar':

I have used the "Weeping Mortor" technique on some Brick Paver Tiles as a backsplash and knee wall for a bar.

Should the Grout be sealed? and if so how?
