I live in New England, and I had my front brick stairs replaced in January. The mason who did the work said he'd come back in the summer to waterproof them. He never did. I bought the waterproof sealant to do it myself, but I noticed three or four small holes or gaps at the brick and mortar seams. Is this normal? The waterproofing instructions say to "make sure all holes are filled." If that's true, shouldn't the mason do that?
