I have to build a wood frame within a brick doorway in order to install a heavy steel door. How can I attach the wood to the brick? I am using treated wood as this is the outside door. I have a powder hammer which I could use but it says not to hammer into the brick. Can I hammer into the morter between the brick with the powder hammer? If so, should I drill a hole through the wood first?
