Situation: The house I currently rent has an enclosed garage, that is not finished. My landlord wants to put a carport addition on the house.

Questions:

1. Does the carport add value to the home, or will it detract? (to be done to a professional standard the carport will use a building permit - additional costs will incurr for cement slab)

2. Would finishing the garage with insulation and additional wiring be more beneficial than a carport?
