We have a 70's home with a cathedral entrance, complete with wrought iron railings up the stairs and along the top. We wish to replace the railings now that we have a baby. We're thinking of putting a half wall along the top, which would run along one end of the living room & a portion of the hall, and spindles down the stairs. As these entrances were very popular in the 70's, I'm hoping someone might be familiar them and offer a suggestion or two...
