I would like to remove an interior wall that divides my Kitchen and dining room. It has a phone jack on it and one electical outlet. What do i need to check for before i remove it. How do I know if that wall is supporting the ceiling or anything else. Next, once it has been determined that i can remove it safetly, can i just cut the studs or what is the best way to get rid of it?

An easy way to see if your wall has supporting beams, is to go into the attic/crawl space and look at the area above your wall. If you see a beam, then it's for support and has to stay. You can put column casings around them that are very attractive and not too expensive.
As for the wires, after turning the circuit breaker off, you can knock down areas of the wall to locate the wires (or purchase an electronic device that tells you where they are - they are sold in hardware stores). If you don't plan on keeping the wires, you can cut them and cap them off, with wire caps and electrical tape.
