I'm planning to install ceramic tile on the backsplash in the kitchen. The existing counter is the typical formica-covered particle board with a separate 4" high piece serving as the backsplash. I want to remove the wood backsplash for a cleaner look for the tile. What do you think? I realize that I may have to deal with gaps where the counter meets the wall. How would I deal with that?
