I just had a pennisula installed in my kitchen and the countertop is made of Meganite (color-Forest Granite). We are very happy with the look, except we noticed a thin, about one foot long darker spot on it. On closer view, we saw it rang along a seam. Found out this material comes in 30 inch widths and ours is 36 inches so two pieces are joined together. You can only see the seam itself if you look very close, but this one darker spot bothers us a little. One friend said this is to be expected. We're not sure to complain to the installer or not. Also, there is an overhang over the base cabinets so we can sit and eat. Installer said this would be no problem since wood strips are screwed onto cabintes and then the countertop is siliconed on that, but when we lean on it, there is some flex. Anyone familiar with this material? Thanks
