I have some very nice wicker furniture that used to be in my glassed-in sun room. It now is in my bedroom. The original paint is a distressed white color. I am looking for a way to stain it a brown color - not paint it. Do you have any suggestions of a product to prepare the furniture and then to stain it?

Wood has to be clear before it will accept stain. That means you would have to remove ALL the paint first. That would take - oh about a year or so - too long. Then you would discover that wicker does not accept stain very well anyway. That is why you always see it painted.
if you wamnt it brown, buy a few cans of brown spray paint.
